They call themselves "The Goonies." The secret caves. The old lighthouse. The lost map. The treacherous traps. The hidden treasure. And Sloth... Join the adventure.
Just like one of my favorite 80's movies "Stand By Me", The Goonies indeed reminded me of the fun and adventures you wish you had or you did had when you were still a kid. Ofcourse, who wouldn't recognize Sean Astin in this movie? He played the role of Mike Walsh, younger brother of Brand (Josh Broline, husband of actress Diane Lane), and a dear friend to Mouth (Corey Feldman), Chunk (Jeff Cohen) and Data (Jonathan Ke Quan). Together they embarked on an adventure of a lifetime--treasure hunting!
A problem arises when the land developers decided to turn the village where Mikey lives to a golf course. Ofcourse, knowing that money is the most effective tool to stop the developers, the kids decided to take action to solve the problem. Hence, the Goonies were born.
Looking for ways to come up with money, Mikey went up to their attic in hopes to find the answer. Fortunately, they found a treasure map which they believe once belonged to the famous One-Eyed Willy. Believing that the map will lead them to the hidden treasure, they started treasure hunting.
Andy (Kerri Green) and Stef (Martha Plimpton, once paired and ex-gf to River Phoenix) joined the Goonies in their quest and along the way befriended Sloth (John Matuszak), son of the infamous Mama Fratteli and brother to Jake and Francis. Despite his scary and quite odd appearance, Sloth became very close to the Goonies. Chunk, in particular, grew very fond of the giant and so did he. Sloth helped the Goonies find the treasure and he prevented the Fratteli's in doing harm to his new found friends. They successfully found the lost treasure and they were able to rescue their village from the developers.Any memories of the Goonies???
